Key Meeting Takeaways:
- The Network convened the Funding and Policy Regional Clusters to finalize their respective activities’ objectives and agendas and identify potential speakers. The Youth Engagement Regional Cluster welcomed the NAM CCN Youth Leaders and learned more about their experiences, challenges, and successes.
- Strategic Partners Laura Snebold and Jessica Nadler of Deloitte, in tandem with their Deloitte colleagues, hosted a Learning Collaborative focused on crafting a successful pitch, particularly to potential funders.
- The Network engaged in Roundtable Discussions to discuss examples of positive funding experiences and brainstorm innovative funding mechanisms for community-based organizations, toward the goal of envisioning an ideal funding ecosystem. Building long term, bi-directional, and responsive relationships based on shared values, democratization of funding, collective ownership, and entrepreneurship emerged as central themes.
- Member Laprisha Berry Daniels hosted a Learning Collaborative focused on leveraging media as a tool for advocacy and storytelling. Laprisha highlighted the power and utility of storytelling, the types of stories to leverage, and strategies for selecting local media outlets with whom to partner.
- Member Blake Ellis led an outdoor grounding activity wherein participants engaged in sensory meditation and gentle breathwork to slow down, relax, and connect with the natural world.
